I walked to Nathan Phillips Square today at lunch. Jack Layton’s coffin was there.

For those outside Canada, Jack Layton was the leader of the New Democratic Party, the official opposition in Parliament. He was also a long-time Toronto politician. And a truly good man. And he just lost his battle with cancer this past week.

I didn’t line up to see him, but I did walk around. It was like a church, but outside. Quiet. Awesome. Perfect. Thousands of people paying their respects to a leader of men.

It was beautiful.
